Mount Sinai, Egypt
May 2002
Continuing our biblical tour of the middle-east, we travelled to Mount
Sinai where Moses came down with the ten commandments. After 2-3
hours walking (and stumbling, and tripping, and gasping for breath) in the
dark, we reached the summit of Mount Sinai. There, we spent a cold night
on the top of the mountain huddling together to watch the sun come up the
next day. Didn't see god or any burning bushes and certainly didn't
come back down with any tablets ... but we did watch a lovely sunrise.
Afterwards, we walked down the mountain and checked out St Catherine's
Monastery and the Greek orthodox monks walking around outside.
Anyway here's the pictures.
