Red Sea, Egypt

May 2002

Spent the first few days in Egypt in Dahab on the Red Sea just chilling on the beach, water skiing, snorkelling, imbibing beers and trying to find some good of the good stuff while a whole lot of people on the truck tried their luck at advanced drowning ... aka ... scuba diving.

Didn't really have much luck on finding some good stuff (it was really crap!) but spent a really excellent afternoon snorkelling, eating BBQ fish and rice using only the bread and our hands as utensils, .... and sleeping.  Here are the photos from that afternoon

On The Beach

We hired camels to take us to a remote location to go snorkling. This is my camel.

Getting on the camels.

Me, Fi and Kiwi Girl Whose Name Escapes Me At The Moment (sorry!).

Me and my camel.

Camel parking lot.

Fiona floating menacingly above me.

Silver thing floating near the surface is a scary looking fish . Some barracuda thingie.

(put your mouse over the picture to see this fantastic highlight of my trip).

Colourful fish thingie.  They eat coral judging from the time I spent following (read terrorizing) the little fuckers.

School of fish.

Yet more fish

Pretty yellow fish.  Best photo by far.

A fish ... as you've probably guessed by now ... I know absolutely nothing about tropical fish.
