Cuzco Party Shots, Peru

Dec 2001

Cuzco is probably one of the best places to party on the Gringo Trail.  Had two big nights on Xmas Eve and December 30.  Drink sizes are positively massive.  Ask for a vodka and you'll probably get a double.

Missed out on New Years Eve unfortunately but if you are anywhere close, make sure you are in Cuzco.  Some friends said it goes off with fireworks and strange people running around the Plaza de Armas in yellow underpants.

Xmas Eve Wipe Out Session

A great party night at Mama Africa's.  I ended up getting extremely whacked on triple vodkas.  Woke up the next day feeling like death with a hangover and altitude sickness combined.  One of the worst Xmas Days' I ever had without a doubt.  Ended up having half a Subway roll from my Xmas dinner.  No idea what the other's got up to.

Bar decoration at Mama Africas

The crowd at Mama Africas.  No idea wht the guy in the black t-shirt was wearing a mask on his head.

Meryl, an English girl I snogged.  Ended up meeting her on the Inca trail two days later.  Couldn't convert unfortunately.

'Allo allo.

Great frontage! Especially on such a petite girl.  We called her Mighty Mouse on the trail although not because of the magnificent frontage obviously.  She was also super fit.  Huge amounts of energy.

The Plaza de Arma's looking like the scene of a riot or civil insurrection.

Ditto.

December 30 - Men Behaving Badly

Started off at the Cross Key's pub and met some friends from the trail.  Met some local girls and went to some bar god knows where.  Ended up very hung-over at 7am with a beautiful Quecha girl  in my bed and a 7.30am train to catch to Puno.  Great night.  Took me three weeks to recover my health afterwards.  Did feel pretty bad running out on the girl however.

Ramone not wanting her picture taken.

Found Matt O'keeffe in Cuzco of all places.  Hadn't seen him for four or five years.  Action man that he is, he completed the four day Inca trail in two days.

Matt and Chilean friend (I think).  Ramone still not wanting her picture taken.

Ramone again.  Don't know why I have so many pictures of the girl. Possibly the fact that she didn't want her picture being taken in the first place.

Marieke from our Inca trail group at unknown locals bar.

Dan on the look out for local talent.

Dan (in background) trying to sell himself to some senorita.

Me and Vanesa.  Who I ended up running out on just after 7 in the morning because I had to catch a train to Puno.  Stupid!  Should have stayed in Cuzco.

Vanesa showing off her dancing skills.

Same again.

Vanesa dancing with a beer.

Smiling Girl in Red Top against wall is who Dan eventually pulled into.  Unfortunately, Swampy - our Pub Cricket Team Coach - decided to be a good boy, abandon play and retire back to the pavilion.  This caused a batting collapse among the other members of the team when they're respective girls decided to accompany their abandoned girlfriend back home.

Never has there been such sorrow and gnashing of teeth.  Not that I witnessed this, I was back at the pavilion scoring a fine and well deserved century with the fair Vanesa.  Still can't believe I ran out on her!!!! Disgraceful behaviour!!!!
