Tournai
Belgium, April 2005
After leaving Ypres, we headed
for Tournai. Anka was keen to revisit the town where at the tender
age of 16, she had spent several pleasant days performing Polish folk
dances with her Polish folk dancing group and kissing foreign boys from
other folk dancing groups.
Personal memories aside, it was
a pleasant place to stop for lunch and wander around the Easter market.
And Tournai, together with
Tongren in Flanders,
is the oldest city in Belgium.
Around Town

Grand Place

Town Hall. Apparently, the folk dancing festival was held here.

No idea who this geezer is.

Grand Place

A lovely view of the Cathedral and houses.

Lovely old dilapidated house in one of the back streets

Beatles graffiti. No idea why this was on the wall. But
graffiti rarely comes with explanations.
