Snowdon

First Bank Holiday May 2005

On Sunday afternoon, we drove from Portmeirion up into the Snowdonia National Park to take a train up to Snowdon, the highest peak in Britain south of the Scottish Highlands

The Trip Up The Peak

The trip up was a barrel of laughs as we were sitting with a Indian/Sri Lankan family from Australia and joking all the way up.

One of our woolly friends.  Or perhaps man's best friend in these parts ;-)

Getting higher.

Terror on the train.  Honestly ... I have no idea what's wrong with the girl here.

Maybe that's the reason ... a train heading straight for us!

At The Peak (well ... nearly)

Freezing our butts off two thirds of the way up Snowdon.  In the train, we talked about walking down but quickly thought better of the whole idea.

Train stopped.

Me freezing near the train.

Train station.

The train is a small coal fired thing.  Looks great.  Smells great.

The train.

The girls walking around.

At the peak.

A wee bit cold.

A Few Pics Afterwards

How green is my valley.

Old hut in the middle of a sheep paddock.  You see this and imagine that life hasn't changed for hundreds of years ... apart from the telegraph poles near the centre of the picture ... mmmm.
